'19 Petite Sirah - Russian River Valley - Los Amigos
Soft and sexy, this Petite Sirah has been aging in barrel for the past 36 months and is perfect for drinking now. I absolutely love to make Petite Sirah from the Russian River Valley because it is so fruit-filled and satisfying year after year. Grown in a cool area well suited for Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, the Petite Sirah from this area has bright and candied flavors with soft tannins - very different from their robust Dry Creek Cousins. Russian River Petite Sirah takes about 2 years to really shine, but once it does - it easily overtakes all other Sonoma County AVA's. Give it a try - this is wonderful! ~Nancy
Sonoma County has almost 60,000 acres of vineyards, 18 AVAs and over 400 wineries. The vast expanse of this region makes this part of wine country a never ending treasure hunt for wine lovers. Russian River encompasses a huge geographical area of Sonoma County and it encompasses cool Pinot Noir and Chardonnay regions on the West Side to Warm-Hot regions on the East side of the valley. We can grow almost any varietal well, and it is definitely site specific.
